Equine College Classes

Horse Training
The science of equine communication is the basis of all horse activity. Learning and acquiring the skill and art of gaining the horse's trust is invaluable, no matter what field you will study or work in.

Horsemanship and Equitation
The ability to ride is one the foremost activities performed with horses. Learning to ride effectively and safely provides you with a firm foundation.

Horse Sports
This course allows students an opportunity to explore the vast array of competitive and recreational horse sports available in America today.

Horse Ownership Project
This course allows students to own the fictitious "horse of their dreams" and to understand the time and financial requirements involved in conscientious horse ownership.

Form and Function
Equine anatomy is most interesting in terms of its role in defining what horses can and cannot do. This course looks at how we can improve function by understanding anatomy, especially as it relates to hoof care and shoeing.

Equine Nutrition
Good nutrition is the cornerstone of a strong equine breeding or performance program. Understanding the "science" behind the feed allows us to keep healthier horses at a lower cost.

Horse Health Care
By providing routine veterinary care and knowing how to spot and treat horse health problems, we can help horses to perform better and live longer.

Stable Management
Quality care of horses and horse facilities requires a lot more than just putting up fence and sending out bills. This course looks at how top horse facilities are designed and run, and at what top horse care professionals do.

Business Basics
This class takes you through the business side of the horse industry. From equine legal issues, contracts, policies and procedures, there is a wealth of information that you need to know if you are going into any aspect of the horse business.

Horse Farm Project
In this class, you will actually build, equip and run a fictitious horse business (on paper). Students can anticipate "hands-on" business needs for building and maintaining a facility, setting up a business and managing clients, staff and horses.

Equine Industry
How do you know what you want to do if you have never done it before? This class will take you through an array of jobs available in the horse industry and help you prepare to start on your own career.

The biggest asset you have is YOU.  It is our desire for you to be an asset to your horse, your employer and your customer.
