Fast Track Programs Fast-Track Programs are for students who want to pick up basic workplace skills in a short period of time. They are recommended for those who want to "try out" a job area or enhance the skills they have in their current job. Each program lasts one quarter (8 weeks). 1st Quarter Horse Sports Riding 3rd Quarter Equine Business Management 4th Quarter Professional Horsemanship (Full Year)
1st Quarter Horse Sports Riding The Horse Sports Quarter broadens the understanding of horse-related activities in general, an overall riding competency applicable to a wide range of horse sports. It teaches students to become competent horse owners and helps them understand the horse business from the customer’s point of view.
All beginning riders must take Basic Horsemanship and Equitation as a prerequsite to all other Horsemanship and Equitation classes. *Riders will need suitable horses for Equitation and Horsemanship Classes
2nd Quarter Horse Health Care The Horse Health Care Quarter teaches students the basic principles of sanitation, diagnostic techniques, treatment plans, after care and maintenance procedures, horse handling methods, and reproductive care for most non-veterinary situations. This program may enhance existing skills and be useful in finding a job with a veterinary clinic, breeding farm, or boarding and training facility. It provides a starting point for those who may be interested in careers in veterinary medicine, equine chiropractic, equine massage, or equine alternative therapies.
*Riders will need suitable horses for Equitation and Horsemanship Class
3rd Quarter Equine Business Management The Business Management Quarter teaches basic principles of office management, accounting, marketing, legal issues, taxation, business etiquette, interpersonal communication, and staff hiring and management needed for a wide variety of horse related businesses. The information received in this quarter may enhance existing job skills and be useful in finding a job as an office manager or supervisor for an equine business, or in starting one’s own business.
*Riders will need suitable horses for Equitation and Horsemanship Class
