Horse Sports

104 Horse Ownership Project- This course allows students to own the fictious "horse of their dreams." Students will learn how to identify an appropriate ideal horse, how to purchase reputable horses, how to purchase appropriate horse equipment and tack, how to select an appropriate boarding and training facility, day-to-day scheduling for the working horse owner and budgeting for the individual horse owner.

109 Horse Sports Overview- This course allows students an opportunity to explore the vast array of competitive and recreational horse sports available in America today. For each sport students will learn about suitability of horses and riders, appropriate clothing and equipment, and any applicable rules, regulations and governing organizations. When possible, field trips and guest speakers will be provided. This course will also teach proper fitting, care and repair of general horse equipment, including saddles bridles, bits, and blankets. Each student will complete a class project that fits and prepares a new piece of horse equipment for use, or repairs an old piece of equipment.
