You will need a horse to participate in riding classes. Three options are available with general information and rules on the following pages:

1. Boarding: Bring your own horse or fully lease: $300 per month, plus horse expenses (vet, farrier, etc.)

Forms Needed: Boarding Contract. Students will be expected to provide all equipment for horses they own or fully lease. The monthly board rate starts on the horse’s arrival date and is due every 30 days from the arrival date. Partial months are prorated at $10 per day.

2. Partial Lease: horse for class use only: $150 per month  Horses provided by school. Subject to availability.

Forms Needed: Lease Agreement Contract. FHFEC will provide bridles, girths, pads, crossties & grooming equipment for lease horses. Students must provide their own saddles or lease one from FHFEC.

3. Trailer In: Arena fees are $80 per quarter or $10 per horse, per riding session, for open riding.

Horse owners are required to provide a current negative Coggins test and health certificate including vaccination records.

*All boarding and/or lease fees that are paid 10 days past the due date will be charged an additional $10.00 late fee. All accounts 30 days past due will be charged interest of 12% APR.

Tack: English and Western Saddles available for use on Forest Hill Farms Partial Lease Horses
Saddle Lease $80 per quarter. FHFEC leased saddles must remain in FHFEC tack room.

Weight Limits
No person weighing over 250 pounds may enroll in any riding classes unless this person furnishes their own horse and can comply with the safety standards. According to safety standards set by Forest Hill Farms, horseman organizations and insurance companies, a person and their tack must not weigh more than 20% of the horse’s total weight. Any student may be required to weigh in with all their tack before being assigned a horse.

Health Insurance Requirement:
All equestrian students are required to carry their own health insurance. Students are not permitted to ride or perform any work in the barns until proof of insurance is on file. A copy of your insurance card must be on file in the Equestrian Center Office.
